Homework
It is my firm belief that homework should have an educational purpose. At the bottom of the page, I have listed some links to research studies that discuss the purposes of homework, and how best to use it in a classroom.

Pollitt Homework Policy
1. Homework will be worth approximately 10-15% of your total grade.
2. Each homework assignment will be worth ten points.
3. To receive full credit for a homework assignment, it must be fully complete including the correct heading when checked. Incomplete assignments will be recorded as zeros.
4. Homework not finished on time may still be completed for 5 points. If the incomplete assignment is fully completed, as described above, by the date of the chapter test or quiz for which the assignment was made.
5. Assignments due when you are absent will be counted as incomplete (0 points) until they are completed, graded, and recorded as complete. If you are absent, it is your responsibility to get assignments from when you were absent and complete them. You will have one day for each day that you miss to complete work from absences for credit. Work completed outside of the prescribed time frame for absences will be considered late assignments and recorded for only partial credit.
Retake policy
Any test with a score of less than 70% MAY be retaken. The retake score cannot exceed 70% of the available points. A retake must occur within one week of when the original test is returned. Retakes are to be completed outside of class time (advisory period or before/after school). There can be more than one retake if needed.
Tests and Quizzes
1. There will be a test or quiz after each chapter is completed. These will be announced in advance. There may be chapters where there will be no test, but will be a project due.
2. Unannounced quizzes may happen at any time.
